How does it all add up?
September 13th, 2010
Willmott Dixon have been working with Julie Birch, Maths teacher at Newton-le-Willows High School, on integrating some of the construction work into her pupil’s maths curriculum.
The projects, which have been designed with close co-operation between Julie Birch, Alistair Brymer (Construction Manager), Willmott Dixon), Marie Dobosz (Site Administrator) and Shaun Bretland (Quantity Surveyor) all of Willmott Dixon and Paul Haigh (Project Architect) of Robinson Architects, use live drawings, data and information from the site to create dedicated exercises that cover area, shape, space, volume, height and spatial awareness.
The project is for Year 8 students who when the Academy opens will enter at Keystage 4 to take their GCSE examinations |
