Message from the Principal
Thank you for your interest in the brand new Hope Academy.
May I offer you a very warm welcome to our website and hope the information it contains will encourage you to make an application.
Hope Academy is a joint Catholic and Church of England school, sponsored by both Churches and Liverpool Hope University in partnership with
St. Helens Council. |
We offer an inclusive approach to all young people in the area and are committed to meeting their individual needs.
Hope Academy will open in brand new £33 million school buildings and offers facilities that are truly exceptional, comparing well with the best in Europe. Our outstanding ICT provision, which includes personal laptops to pupils, is but one example of the level of resourcing across the school.
At the heart of our vision is the spiritual and moral development of our community where we seek to foster the growth of confident, engaged, moral and responsible young people.
We place a strong emphasis on the academic and the personal development of our young people together with a strong investment in their welfare. With our schools within schools approach there is a focus on the care and happiness of pupils ensuring an environment which is secure, stable and orderly and at the same time full of opportunities, challenge and activity.
Our passionate belief in young people will be reflected in the high expectations placed on all members of our community. We will combine hard work and discipline to provide our pupils with the determination and motivation to succeed. Pupils will gain much from their time at Hope Academy and in return we expect a high level of commitment and endeavour from them as well as very high standards of personal appearance and behaviour.
Our highly flexible and broad curriculum will cater for all aptitudes, needs and aspirations. This will include additional support where needed, and high challenge and curriculum acceleration where appropriate. Pupils will have an outstanding curriculum offer with a wide and flexible choice of subjects with options for early GCSE entry and A’ level provision at Key stage 4.
The Academy has adopted ‘Sustainability’ as its specialism. At the heart of this concept is a moral issue that reflects the responsibility we all have for sustaining a viable future for our planet. This specialism will be reflected both in the design of our school buildings and in the curriculum across the school.
