Objectives
•  Work progressively to embed the five principles of sustainable development into its core values, teaching and management practices;
•  model the behaviour which we wish the young people to learn: for example the role of the student voice would be central and young people will be included in the management and governance of the Academy councils and even as members of the governing body;
•  develop curricula and teaching methods that enable students to develop the values, skills, knowledge and understanding to live and work sustainably;
•  engage staff, students, parents, the local community, businesses and other partners in projects that improve the environment and quality of life on a local and global scale;
•  increase the impacts of the Academy's efforts by sharing good practices and helping others to achieve sustainable developement;
•  identify the links between Education for Sustainable Development and Christian beliefs and faith, then interpret this in the educational provision so as to clarify the real connection between God, mankind and the environment;
•  recognise the knowledge, skills and understanding which are developed in partner primary schools so as to build on students’ prior knowledge of sustainable issues.
