Maintaining Standards
Many concerns are rightly raised when schools close and changes are proposed. By working collaboratively with the schools, the Academy sponsors, the local authority, and local stakeholders however, we have developed a
careful transition plan, this is to ensure that:
| • |
the changes happen gradually; |
| • |
the two schools being replaced get to know each other; |
| • |
students are involved in planning the new building; |
| • |
staff work with tutors from Liverpool Hope University to develop new learning strategies; |
| • |
school leaders and managers are able to harmonise examination syllabuses; |
| • |
all students who enter the Academy in Y11 will have worked on the same curriculum as each other in Y10. |
Raising Standards
Challenging targets have been set for the Academy and our commitment to the latest learning processes and teaching styles will ensure that all are enthused to achieve their very best.
Liverpool Hope University is committed to providing tailor-made development opportunities through which staff will develop teaching strategies to reflect the ethos of the Academy; strategies including personalisation, research-based practice, developing open minds, learning-to-learn and a wide use of e-learning including Virtual Learning Environments and the continuous access for students to the necessary ICT resources. This commitment will begin before the Academy opens so that the transition will be straight forward for all. |
